Face Lift
Face Lift in İstanbul
This surgery, known as full facelift, facelift, or face lifting surgery, is an aesthetic operation performed to remove sagging in the cheek and jowl area and to give the face a younger appearance.
In this operation, which is performed under general anesthesia and by Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery specialists, additional aesthetic procedures can be performed for the signs of aging in other parts of the face.
With this surgery, sagging and looseness in the cheekbones, cheeks, chin edges, and neck parts of the face are removed. Full facelift surgery is not a standard operation, many different surgical techniques are applied under the title of a facelift.
Facelift surgery can be applied alone or combined with aesthetic interventions on other parts of the face, such as bags under the eyes.
Before Face Lift Surgery
To get through the operation process without any problems, it is necessary to start taking some precautions at least 15 days before the operation date during the preparation for the operation.
Especially if estrogen-like hormonal support pills are used due to menopause, it is beneficial to discontinue them 1 month before the operation to reduce the risk of clot formation in the leg veins.
If patients are taking some medications or nutritional supplements such as aspirin, green tea, and vitamin E, which have blood-thinning effects, their consumption should be interrupted at least 2 weeks before the date of surgery.
Recovery Process After Face Lift Surgery
During the surgery, an “intermittent pneumatic compression device” is applied to support blood circulation in patient’s legs, and patient’s legs are massaged intermittently until patients get up and start walking after the surgery.
Liquid and soft food intake are started 2 hours after the operation. 4 hours after the operation, the patient stands up and walks.
The night of the operation is spent in the hospital. The patient is placed in a semi-sitting position. A cold mask is applied to the face for edema and pain control.
Some asymmetry is normal since facial edema does not regress symmetrically in the first weeks following the surgery.
It may take an average of 2-6 months for everything to fit into its place, depending on whether additional aesthetic procedures are performed or not, the wound healing characteristics of the person, the lying position, and environmental conditions.
It takes an average of 1 year for the incision scars to take their final form. In this process, it is possible to hide the scars with a hairstyle and concealers.
